Client Needs & Objectives
As part of regulatory transformation, especially BCBS239, our client wanted to create a new Chief Data Officer function
The objectives were threefold:
- Assess precisely the internal and external needs and define clear roles and responsibilities
- Design the Target Operating Model
- Equip the new team with appropriate tools and procedures
Our approach
- Diagnosed the organisation and assessed the needs (including regulatory) for the creation of a Chief Data Officer function
- Defined mission statement and mandates of the Chief Data Officer
- Identified all the stakeholders taking part of the Data Governance framework (business owner, data owner, data steward, data custodian etc.)
- Assessed the workload and identified required staffing
- Proposed organisational scenarios especially hierarchical and functional links
- Benchmarked data management tools, assessed pros and cons and prepared decision file
